What's My Mission?
The other day, a friend of mine asked me what I'm trying to "do" with The Mogul Mom. "That's a good question", I thought. My guess is that many of you might be wondering the same thing. Because of my fantastic entrepreneurial odyssey, I have acquired a vast amount of experience in being a mom and building a business without a heck of a lot of help with either. I don't have a cleaning lady, or a nanny or a personal trainer. I don't even have a regular babysitter. As far as my kids and my household go, I'm "it". And as I've mentioned before, I started 2 Virtues Inc. in 2004 when the "Mom Inventor" was in its infancy. There weren't any books, websites or magazines just for "mompreneurs". Everything I did, every mistake I made, every dollar or minute I spent, was a learning experience. Sometimes a very expensive, time-consuming learning experience. But I found my way, grew my business and achieved modest success--in between diaper changes and trips to the pediatrician. :) And along my journey, I tucked away every bit of helpful information, every useful resource, and every tried & true product or service. Now I'm not telling you these things so you'll say, "Wow, how did you do it?" or "Gosh, you're amazing!" Nope. I'm telling you these things so you know how I came about my newest "mission". I started The Mogul Mom after receiving email after email after email from moms like you. Over and over again, I'd hear the same questions, the same requests for the same information and the same cries for help. So, I decided to provide those answers, that information and the help that you needed. But I decided to do that in my own way--very specifically. Huh? What I mean by "very specifically" is that my primary mission is to provide everything that mompreneurs need in a very specific, very step-by-step, very direct manner. If you ask me about having a website designed, well, I'm going to tell you what key elements it should have (and not have) and give you the contact information for my web team so you can get started ASAP. If you ask me how to find a manufacturer, I'm not going to send you off to Alibaba.com. Instead, I'm going to recommend Alibaba.com with step-by-step instructions on how to do a search AND I'll give you some contacts of mine in China. If you ask me how to figure out your wholesale and retail prices, I'm going to show you the exact equation AND send you to JamesGirone.com, an amazing site for children's apparel industry information. My mission is to always give you the answers, information, recommendations and referrals that are the most helpful, cost effective, efficient and truthful. So, there you have it. That's The Mogul Mom's mission.
