CPSIA Resources

Jessica Haley of Mia Joie commented on a recent post & added that she was surprised that I hadn't written any posts about the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). I haven't posted anything about the CPSIA for a couple of reasons. First, I think this issue is so huge & so confusing that I couldn't begin to do it justice on my blog, which is for every mom entrepreneur, not just the ones in the children's product industry--I think the CPSIA issue would need an entire blog of its own! Second, I honestly haven't read an awful lot of information on it because I am no longer in the baby apparel business since selling my company to Summer Infant last spring. However, I want you to know that I realize that many, many of you ARE affected by the CPSIA and with that in mind, I'm listing some resources that I hope you find helpful.  Fashion Incubator by Kathleen Fasanella is a great place to find information about the apparel industry and the CPSIA. You can follow Kathleen on Twitter at @kfasanella.  Boutique Cafe is a "boutique podcast" for moms & mompreneurs on the go. BC has a wonderful page about the CPSIA and what you can do about it. You can follow Boutique Cafe on Twitter at @BoutiqueCafe.  Change.org is an amazing site that asks "What do you want to change in the world?" on its homepage. There are over 150 comments on their post about the CPSIA, offering ways to get involved, change the law and save companies most affected by the CPSIA.
