How Old Are You Anyway?

I'm of the mindset that knowledge is power, no matter what. Armed with knowledge, you can change your life. Formulate a plan. Take action. Rework goals. Be enlightened. Find out your real age.Wait, what?Yep, the RealAge test helps you find out if you're biologically younger, older or the same as your calendar, or chronological, age. Once you've found out that information, well, you can change your life, formulate a plan, take action, rework goals or just plain be enlightened.I dove straight into the RealAge test and 132 family history and lifestyle questions later (like, whether or not you smoke, wear a seatbelt, use a cell phone while driving, have a history of diabetes, take an aspirin a day - that kind of stuff), I found out that though I'll be 41 on Sunday, my "RealAge" is 38.Damn, I like this test. But even though I'm biologically 3 years younger than my calendar age, RealAge.com still offered me helpful suggestions on becoming evenyounger. Here's some of what they said:

  • Keep taking care of your teeth and gums (Hey, I floss...)
  • Have your blood pressure taken (I haven't had it done in months but have inherited my mom's absurdly low blood pressure.)
  • Stay an ex-smoker (Ok, ok...it was back in my college days when I was out with friends. Which was a lot. But I quit in 1994.)
  • Keep buckling up (Now this I actually started doing back in 1994 when I heard that wearing a seatbelt, using daily sunscreen & flossing were 3 things that could save your life!)
  • Hug your dog (Aw, The Dude loves that one.)
  • Cut down on red meat (I'm trying - I actually haven't eaten anything from a 4-legged animal in over a week.)
  • Make breakfast a must (Guilty as charged - most days, I look at the clock & realize it's noon and I haven't eaten breakfast yet.)

And in addition to the RealAge test & oh-so-helpful suggestions for improving your RealAge, RealAge.com has a TON of awesome resources right on their site - tip of the day, brain games, books & blogs, diet tips and more. So, if you're interested in arming yourself with knowledge that can change, maybe even save, your life, I'd head over to RealAgenow.Tell us in the comments what your real age is. Don't be afraid - we're in it together, remember?
