Magnify Your Message: Use Click to Tweet

I don't know about you, but I have a general dislike for the kind of content that typically goes viral in social media. I prefer to create content on a whim, driven by what's on my mind and the situations my readers are facing on a daily basis. This is great for building relationships and creating an honest brand but not so great for broadcasting my message through the noise of Facebook and Twitter. I have something to say! I suspect you might, as well. I've recently stumbled on something that allows me to greatly increase the sharing of my message on Twitter, just as I want it shared. It's called Click to Tweet. Click to Tweet allows you to create a link that generates a tweet (preloaded by you) for the reader who wants to share. After important lines in my pieces, I insert a Click to Tweet link that repeats that line, includes a link to the article, and adds a hashtag. Including the line I want shared means that more of my message is being spread around, the link means more people are clicking and the hashtag means I can easily track effectiveness. And it works perfectly.  Here's what it looks like: Click to Tweet example And here's the result:  Click to Tweet example on Hootsuite I would estimate that this technique is currently producing a 500% increase in Twitter shares on every article I publish. Yep, at least 500%. And much of that increase has been from my loyal - and beloved - email subscribers.  So, if you want your message to be shared across social media, consider giving the free tool Click to Tweet a try. You just might be surprised by how many more eyes you begin to get on your content!
