3 Ways To Cook Up an Exciting and Engaged Social Media Presence for 2016

“I post and post but no one likes or comments.” “Pinterest is becoming like a sponsored pin fest. I can’t get the same reach I was getting earlier.” “I feel social media is such a time suck for me. Coming up with content to share takes forever.” Have you ever felt like this? Overwhelmed, frustrated, and even, irritated with social networking. You aren’t alone. Literally, nearly every single entrepreneur I speak with, voices the exact same concerns. In fact, we did our annual Content Bistro survey and one of the questions we’d asked was what are the 3 things you struggle with  when it comes to blogging and social media and guess what #1 was – getting engagement on social. So, yes, you aren’t alone and guess what, this lack of engagement isn’t your fault. That’s right. It is tough to get people to pay attention when they’re being bombarded, left, right and center with posts, photos, videos, memes, the works. It’s tough to compete with the big box stores and dish out dollars for eyeballsSo, what’s the solution? To quote Sherlock, the solution is elementary, my dear Mogul Mom. As someone who’s managed social media communities for over 5 years now, I have a few recipes that I know work up my sleeve, and today, I’m going to show you how easy and simple it is for you to experience the same ease-of-mind and engagement, too. Ready? Let’s get going! Here are:

3 Simple Things to Supercharge Engagement on Social Media

1. Don’t Do Social, Be Social

First things first: You don’t DO social media. You BE SOCIAL on social media.  Click to Tweet That means, you interact and engage with your community, the way you would with people in real life. You ask questions. You share pictures. You reveal secrets. You make confessions. You find out how they’re feeling. You tap into their deepest fears and you share yours. Be social. THAT is your strategy.

2. Add YOU to Your Engagement

No one likes to engage with someone who’s…umm.. how should I put it, blending with the background, maybe? Now you don’t have to go changing yourself or being someone you’re not, but you do have to add a dash of YOU to your engagement. That’s right. Do you hate green smoothies and wonder what the big deal is about eating pureed vegetables?  Are you a travel enthusiast who takes the quirkiest photos ever?  Do you do the best mimicry ever?  Maybe cooking and baking are your (like they’re mine!) secret sauce? Whatever be your special thing, showcase it. Bring your you-ness to your engagement and watch it skyrocket.

3. Create Content that Builds Communities

Finally and most importantly, make sure you have content that creates community and brings people together. You can share your blog posts but do it in a way that’s fun, honest, relatable and not spammy. You can share your products and services but without feeling like a smarmy salesman. You can toot your own horn and totally brag but without coming off like a snooty high school prom queen. (No offense!) Yes you can share all the content you want in a way that makes your community feel inspired, encouraged, empowered and most importantly, like a community. In The Social Spread, I’ve taken my years of experience managing social communities for industry leaders and put together over 600 ready-to-use updates to help you create an exciting, engaged and active social media presence without the stress and overwhelm. Packed with updates that I know spark community, conversation and connection while increasing conversions, The Social Spread has been loved by hundreds of entrepreneurs worldwide and if you’re ready to make 2016 your year of engagement without the (mental) exhaustion, I hope you join them. If you're willing to invest a nominal amount of money in exchange for the peace of mind to know your social media will be done well and done right, get yours, HERE. There you go! 3 ways to ensure you have an engaged and active presence that builds your brand and doesn’t suck the lifeblood out of you. Best Christmas present ever, right? ;)
