5 TIPS TO BOOST YOUR PRODUCTIVITY

We’ve all been there — where we feel like the hours of the day flew past us, and we didn’t accomplish anything we set out to do.As a mom, it may be hard to manage our daily tasks as we have to juggle our time between work, our families, and ourselves. We came up with five tips to help boost your productivity and make the best out of your day.

1. Plan your day in advance

Nothing improves productivity like having your day planned out. You know what you have to do, and when you have to do it. This helps take out the guesswork during the day.It also subconsciously keeps you on pace as you have to finish your task on time before starting the next – talk about momentum. So, our suggestion is to get up a few minutes earlier in the morning, gather your thoughts, and list the tasks you have to do for that day.

2. Off-load some tasks

Look for household chores that your family can help you with. If you have children, make them take out the garbage. They probably won’t like the idea of doing chores, but they’ll learn life long skills and be grateful in the end.An alternative is to look for local companies that take care of household chores like cleaning, lawn maintenance, and laundry.Example, J & G Laundromat offers a laundry service where they pick up and deliver your laundry. And it only takes a few minutes to schedule.

3. Remove Distractions

Getting interrupted while in the middle of something can get annoying. That’s why it’s essential for you to remove any distractions that can disrupt your productivity.Putting your phone on “Do not disturb” mode can prevent you from checking your phone every time hear it ping or feel the vibration.Once you finish all of your daily tasks, you’ll have more than enough time to catch up with your friends on social media.

4. Don’t Procrastinate

If you have a task to accomplish, just get it done, don’t sit around and wait for time to pass. The sooner you start, the better, especially if this task will consume a lot of your time.At the end of the day, you’ll still have to perform that task, but you won’t recover the time you lost to start.

5. Recap your day

Recapping your day allows you to find out what helps your productivity and areas of opportunity to improve your workflow for the next day.  Recapping on what you did help you determine on what tasks, chores, or office work took you time and maybe addressing it with some smart technology that can keep you posted at work or at home. Check out this great guide on productivity application that can be useful in the office or at home.If you found out that you lost 40 minutes sitting around, find out what made you lose those 40 minutes and address it. This will help you become more productive by slowly eliminating the things slowing down your productivity. At the end of the day, what matters is that you have more time for yourself while taking care of the things you want to more efficiently.

Bonus Tip: Take a break

This may sound a little counterintuitive, but taking a break actually helps improve your productivity. When you take a break, your mind relaxes, you re-focus yourself, and regain your energy — all which result in boosting productivity. Whether you grab a cup of your favorite coffee or play an online game, take a short pause for a break.  So make sure when you plan your day, you schedule yourself a break.
